A Journalistic Portfolio
Stories have always been my passion. Here is a sampling of my best work.
Stories have always been my passion. Here is a sampling of my best work.
I'm a young journalist with a love for community and storytelling. From two years of reporting on city issues in Burlington, Vermont to a year of teaching English internationally, my life since graduating Indiana University in 2021 has been dedicated to career, personal growth and adventure.
I wrote about city government, housing, public safety and more for the Burlington Free Press in Burlington, Vermont from 2021-2023. While in this role, I had the privilege of attending the New England First Amendment Institute reporting workshop to learn investigative journalism skills.
Before moving to Vermont, I was a Pulliam Fellow at the Indy Star in Indianapolis, Indiana, a reporting intern for WFIU/WTIU, the local NPR and PBS affiliates in Bloomington, Indiana, as well an intern at the Kokomo Tribune in Kokomo, Indiana and the Daily Monitor in Kampala, Uganda. I also wrote and edited for the Indiana Daily Student, IU's student-run paper while I was an undergraduate student.
Fourth Place in the 2020 national Hearst Competition for Personality/Profile Writing
First Place in 2019 Multimedia News Story Contest, International Communication Division of the Association of Education in Journalism and Mass Communication
First Place in Non-Deadline News, student category, Indiana Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists’ 2019 Best of Indiana awards
I want to write stories that keep the powerful accountable, give hope, reveal injustice, inform and inspire. I want to learn from seasoned reporters and editors and embrace all challenges as lessons.
